05/27/2008 Entry: "An employee meeting."

Evening. Anyone there? Eh, who cares..

We had a employee meeting today, for all the people that are training for this new store, held in a conference room in a hotel. (Or is it a motel?..It's build right next to a cheap ass motel that I used to work at anyways, but this PLACE has got it's own freakin' lobby & everything. So I'm guessing it's a hotel.) It was rather pointless, overall, but lasted 2 hours inwhich I should get paid for sitting in a chair listening to people talk.

First we had to stand up, introduce ourself, have a picture of ourselves taken (for the manager, whom wanted to have records of everyone to remember) & then introduce ANOTHER person..Awkward...I'm just lucky I remember the name of that girl who is always friendly to me (for some reason). Otherwise it's like some bad high school project all over again.

Then there was some going over rules..blah, blah. Then another manager would ask us questions inwhich we were suppose to raise our hands to respond (but most simply ended up shouting out the answers) & if correct would have some candy thrown our way..So it's like high school AND some type of daycare like events..

And, you KNOW I didn't raise my hand once. Hell no, nor have I ever the last few years of school.

Next, we were asked to have 3 groups of 5 people stand in corners of the room. These indivisuals were given 2 balls & told one was 'Sheetz' (the store) & the other: their LIVES. And hence they should juggle them. At that point, the managers would throw ANOTHER ball at them, explaining it represented "A customer complaining about a food order." or "Someone calling off." or a work-related problem basically. This would alcourse make the juggler drop one or more of their balls (and yes, one did hit me, the non-participating souls still sitting down).

What this was suppose to PROVE, I'm not sure..That we should expect to fall apart dealing with our jobs, lives & work stress? I'm....really not sure.

Anyways after 2 hours of that, I got to leave & had the rest of the day free. I went shopping & finally got to purchase baby stuff for my unborn niece. Everything's so DAMN CUTE! Although I really can't wait til she's old enough for me to start the FUN toys.

That is all for now.
