02/20/2008 Entry: "Cinnamon allergy & CLEX"

Good deal. My sites are back up. Everything was down last night, when I checked last.

I learn something important..oddly enough from a Gameplan trailer. And some research from the internet.

There IS such a thing as an Allergy to cinnamon!

Here I thought I was nuts..Or that my 'thing' against cinnamon was just another one those foods I was simply very picky against (onions, waterchestnuts, peppers, chocolate in 'melted' form, pancakes, molassics are among the other items I can not stand). I remember I COULD eat cinnamon very early on. Just after eating some cereal with cinnamon & getting sick afterwards - I've avoided it ever since.

The smell I simply can not stand. And it LURKS. If someone made oatmeal with cinnamon in the microwave, the smell would REMAIN. Hence I could not make anything in there - less the smell would get on MY food.

Nor can I have anything with cinnamon TOUCHING anything I will eat. Which is why I have a problem with doughnuts that are boxed with cinnamon covered ones. Or somethings baked goods will be stored in an area where cinnamon was.

Then there are foods with small amounts. Or that list 'spices' in the ingrediants. But I can tell immediantly. These are mostly baked goods but anything 'spicey' COULD include cinnamon. Another reason I avoid new foods. Sticking with only the ones I know. But wouldn't you know, there will be certain sweets I like & out of the blue - they suddenly add CINNAMON or NUTMEG to the receipe. I know this has happened to animal crackers & most 'tasty kake' products.

Since I avoid cinnamon/ginger/nutmeg (all part of the same unholy spice family) like the plauge. I'm not sure if I've ever remember having an allergic reaction.

Except someone mentioned Dr Pepper possibly having it in their ingrediants. Interesting because (another sideway story - I'm addicted to lipgloss to the point where I imply it atleast every hour ) this Dr Pepper lipgloss I have seems to make the area around my mouth red & slightly warm. Not too much of an inconveince if I only use it at home, so I've never given it much thought.

Hopefully this is my only allergy. My sister developed abunch later in her life. (seadfood, diary, cats, probably some more) But I believe that was still while she was in her late teens/early 20s.

In other news, my current project is going though my Smallville DVDs & collecting the 'Clex' moments (Clark & Lex together) for making some music videos. So far I've only finished disc 3 but there's like an half hour footage I've collected of them drinking coffee, talking & staring at each other while dramatic music plays.

Ah, good ole cheesy, bad CGI, first season Smallville. Full of freaks of the week plotlines & more gay subtext than you can shake a stick at. Right now, the show's mostly Lanaville with some storylines rejected from Supernatural. And the only Clex scenes ya get is Clark showing up unannouced at Lex's house to accuse him of being PURE EVIL. Why Lex doesn't release the hounds on Clark is beyond me..Must be LOVE, or OBSESSION. Same difference.

I can see myself in your head!

See you later.
